Cremia is made up of many different hamlets, some of which date back to Roman times, beginning at the lakeside and wind their way up to the slopes of Mount Bregagno. The village is situated on the northern part of the lake and is approximately 10km from Menaggio.
The church of San Vito is close by and is well worth visiting. It was originally the old parish church and is a beautiful medieval building with mullioned windows, suspended arches and an unusual bell tower. Cremia has a public beach and there is also a larger beach with a Swimming Pool nearby, at the Lido di Menaggio. There are some lovely restaurants in the village where you can sample the local cuisine. | |
